Sorry. What I mean is that Akkadian -î is not a Gen.sg. ending but the oblique (Acc./Gen.) pl. ending of masculines, so its function is different from that of Latin -i: . The vocalism -i- of course occurs in -im, the Gen.sg. ending, but it's a short vowel, not comparable to Latin Gen.sg. -i: in any way. Either the form or the function is wrong.

I was going to make the same points.  But why isn't Akkadian -i a genitive ending?
