Finnish has hundreds of early Germanic loanwords, but I was talking of a different word and the non-attestation of a hypothetical early version of Eysysla in Baltic Finnic.

I just remembered this:

Sw. Åland - Fi. Ahvenanmaa

cf Got ahwa, Sw. Da. å

Sw., Da. å otherwise means stream, river, but obviously not here.

There's your reflex of PGmc. *ahwa- (not *ahwia-, but I hope this
will do?)
