Oengus < *Oinogusto-. (Chris Gwinn can give a complet explanation)

ps: When I started to study mythology I've also thought at this relation
Angus-Yngvi (plus Indian Ananga), from some *Enghwo-, a kind of IE love god.
But I abandoned this idea.
