Let's leave it at that. You know I don't propose it because I've no
idea what to say next. If I can be of any service off-list, that
would be more appropriate, I think. It's not so much the central
issue as the spin-off it generated (here, the more general discussion
of compounds) that has proved potentially instructive and therefore
worth discussing in public.
