I think maybe there's some relation.
ON thursa "troll, giant" < *ters- "to tremble, to be afraid" cf. Latin
tremere (<*tresm-), terror (<*tersos-). In Sanskrit there's trs.u "monster,
demon, litterally, that who is terrible".
Usual analysis points Latin tuscus "etruscan" < *turscus < *turs akin to
thyrsenos, thyrrenos. But in Roman epic history, it's well known the
relation between the threefold Roman people (Romans-Etruscans-Sabines) with
the threefold mythic ON scheme aesir-giants-vanir or Irish tuatha de
danaan-fomoire-fir bolg.
So, it's not impossible that Latin *tuscus (<*trs-ikos) had an archaic
meaning "monster, giant", and after its meaning was mixed with *t(h)urs-
"Etruscan", with the euhemerization of Giants as Etruscan warriors.
