The original abode of Hermes may have been Mt. Hermon, now on the
cease-fire line between Israel and Syria near Lebanon. He was
probably claimed as an "ancestor" by the Phoenician king Hiram,
who lived at the time of the Biblical kings David and Solomon.
I Kings 5:15 - 26.

I have "reconstructed" two anthropomorphic (body-part) maps,
one of [probably] Hermes in the mid-East and one of
[probably] Aphrodite in north Africa. Charts indicating the
correspondence between body-parts and geographic areas for
each of the "maps" are available by return email.
