A hypothetical *sah2wlr is bad enough (and you would need to explain why the syllabification should be what you propose rather than [sah2ul@...]), and a Gen. sh2wél-n-s instead of *sh2ul-én-s or *sh2w@... is odd, to say the least. Again, the syllabification of *-ln-s as [-ln@...] rather than [-l@...] seem unacceptable.

The point I was, unsuccessfully, trying to make was of a pre-PIE
cluster **ln _before_ zero-grade and normal PIE syllabification rules.

So something like:

**sáxwalna > **sáxw[@]lr
**saxwálna-si > **s[@]xwáln[@]s^

then assimilation and simplification of the clusters:

**sáxw[@]ll > **sáxw[@]l
**s[@]xwánn[@]s^ > **s[@]xwán[@]s^

then the normal developments to:

*sáh2wl
*sh2wéns

[cf. talking about a cluster *pn, outside the realm of Slavic
syllabification rules, in a discussion about Pol. sen < PSl. *sUnU].

>Even the analogic influence of -r/n- heteroclita is a more convincing solution.

It has its merits.
