Oh, thanks, I;ve forgotten Hartaggas. I didnt know "irs^tva"

Lithuanian use for "bear" the name LOKYS", which is cognate of Latvian LA:CIS, and someone link it with Vliko-DLAKU "werewolf" in Slavic. *DLA:Kw- ?

Maybe Dla:kw- explain LAPITHES, Thessalian people that ever appeared as enemies of heroes. The etymology I suggest for Lapithes is:

LAPITHE:S < *LAPO-PITH-E:S < *wlkwo-bhidh-  "ugly as a wolf", maybe some kind of werewolf people. cf. bhoidh-/bhidh- "ugly, fear" Latin foedus "ugly", Greek pithe:x "monkey", Slav besu "demon".

And don't forget Hittite hartaggas/hartkas. The protoform is actually *xrtkos with a nil-grade initial syllable, visible in the Latin and Sanskrit forms. Another likely cognate is Lithuanian irs^tva 'bear's lair'.
