There is evidence of Tigers and monkeys in the rainforests that used
to exist on the southern shores of the Caspian sea, at least until
the
times of the Abbasid Caliphate of the Middle Ages. So there may have
been cognates in the pre-Armenian languages of this region.
(Hurro-Urartuean anyone?)
