Well, Saturn has a malevolent character in pretty much all systems of
astrology (I'm not sure about the Chinese) though this may be
inheritance from Babylon or Sumer. The slowness/lameness on the other
hand is a natural consequence of it being the farthest out and slowest
of the seven classical planets and thus could be independent interpretation.
