Self-correction:

Sorry. He's from Krasnodar, not Krasnoyarsk.

BTW, according to Ryabchikov, Etruscan and Scythian were Proto-Slavic dialects, and Circassian is an IE language. Again, it would be a waste of time to explain why he's wrong or what he's obsessed about.

Dear Adriana,

Do I really need to explain why Linear A tablets, the Phaistos Disk and Proto-Sinaitic inscriptions can't all be Slavic? It would be like being challenged to prove that the pyramids were not erected by aliens from the Syrius system, or that the Moon is not made of Gruyere cheese. There are views that do not even merit discussion, since it would too evidently be a waste of time and effort.

As for "obvious ethnical antagonism", I trust you are not insinuating that, being a Pole, I'm "obviously" likely to be prejudiced against a Krasnoyarsk-based independent expert. I hasten to assure you that I'm not a Russophobe or any other kind of xenophobe, and I'm confident my Russian pals and learned colleagues can see why Mr Ryabchikov is a crank as clearly as anyone else can.
