Thanks, Steve, it must be one of those things they talked about at the Bird and the Baby. I can imagine Tolkien making up sonorous Anglo-Saxon placenames over the beer, and Lewis taking down mental notes. John, any idea where those Arabic-looking heathen names like Tashbaan come from?

    I thought that Ettinsmoor sounded familiar.  In the Tolkin trilogy there is also an Ettenmoors located in the north country.
