Subject: [tied] Otzi's 'nationality'.

There are at least two competing theories at present (Otzie, AFAIK, carried no pottery on him, which makes his precise identification difficult):

(1) Square-Mouthed Vessels Culture (with Balkan connections) = VBQ (Vasi a Bocca Quadrata);

(2) Lagozza Culture (a variant of the French Chassey Culture).

As a more remote possibility, he could belong to one of the Northern groups penetrating the italian Alps (Mondsee, Pfyn/Horgen, Altheim -- I don't know much about them)

All about Otzi (in German or Italian)

Any guesses to what group Otzi belonged too? Lengyel? proto-Corded Ware?
