Zaraθuštra-, "zara-thoosh-tra", with the "th" of "thick". It probably comest from *zarant- 'old' plus uštra- 'camel',i.e. "(having) old camels". Your second "r" shouldn't be there.

I wonder what we are supposed to do with the 'th' in
Zarathrustra. Richard Strauss and Stanley Kubrick
made us all do it as in German.

EIEC does it with a theta. Now, from Homer down
into early post-archaic times, Greek theta is really
t+h (t plus an aspirated aitch) and not what we
English-speakers and the Icelanders do with our
thorns and edhs.

So. What is it. Zara true struh or Zara through struh.
