It has fared rather better then than the great Scottish linguistic
forgery the "Tales of Ossian" which was supposed to tell of Caracul
Lord of the World (the Agricola campaign by the Romans against the
Caladonians). I wonder if McKenzie had any connection to MacPherson ;-)
