Sorry for having to repost what follows, but I'm afraid the original posting accidentally became encoded as something wild (I couldn'r read it myself). I wrote:

I looked again at my posting on Elektron and found myself guilty of a hypercorrection: the actual form of the SUN word occurring in the Homeric texts is (consistently) Eelios -- with h dropping -- not hEelios. (The difference has no bearing on the question if ElektOr is related to hElios or not.)
