Beware the confusion between movement of language and movement of
people. I don't think it's likely that the _language_ called Egyptian
came from down south. The AfroAsiatic languages (ignoring population
movement) must have come ultimately from the Middle East. I don't think
that accepting an Egyptian population movement from the south Nile
however is in conflict with the linguistic movements of AA languages.

So Glen, are you saying that language movement was from the Middle East
into Egypt while the people movement was from Nubia? That might be
partially correct; however, are you certain that no people moved from
the Middle East into Egypt? This seems a bit peculiar.
