Have you tried?
Sincerely, that's the most surprising sentence I've ever read.

Personally via email I communicate with more people in Esperanto than in
english or even portuguese. I chat on irc, icq, and I even talk via internet
with friends from Brazil, USA, Canada, Australia, Colombia and others
in Esperanto. If you've learned Esperanto we surely could now
be mailing daily, chatting on irc/icq or, why not, talking.
The reasons you are giving for english are to me 100% adjusted to Esperanto.

Money in fact leads the world, and the present leadership of english
as the dominant language in the world is no more than an expression of
the economic trends. There are some people who claim that the
next world language is to be chinese.

That's a very strange concept. Language is to communicate. Natural languages
don't mix with concepts of friedship or war.
Esperanto, as a created language, was created with a great purpose : to allow
the communication between different people from diverse countries, relligions,
etc, establishing a concept of inter-national friendship, peace and harmony.
So if it were to talk about a language of peace, english would be the last one
I'd think of.
