This links to a jpg of the Bronocice pot. It has a wagon incised into it.
This is apparently one of the very earliest depictions of a wheeled vehicle
extant anywhere. This is from the TRB ( Trichterbecher, Funnel-necked
Beaker, or just plain "Funnel Beaker") culture. There is a drawing of this
pot in the Encyclopedia of Indo-European Culture (under 'Wagon'), but the
color jpg has more presence. The wagon is quite visible just to the right
of the center of the pot as shown in the picture.
Does anyone know the date for this pot? It's obviously ante-2700 BCE or
so, but how much further back? To 4500?

This is from the site of the Cracow branch of the Polish Academy of
Sciences. The page on which the picture appears is here:

PS. Yes! I find this pot stunnning!

The pot with wagon motifs has been dated to ca.4725 BP, but seven
calibrated C-14 dates of the same Bronocice III phase yield 4610-4440 BP --
safely the oldest wagon representation in Europe, if not "obviously
ante-2700 BCE". However, cart ruts of an even earlier date (4800-4700 BP,
preserved underneath a barrow) have been reported from Flintbek, Germany.

Are those calibrated or uncalibrated C-14 dates? It makes quite a lot of
difference in that time-range.
