I can't think of any phonological peculiarities unique to Greek and Aryan. Grassmann's Law operates in both groups but in a different way in each -- it is demonstrably a parallel, rather than common, innovation. Traces of a similar change can also be seen in Tocharian, which otherwise looks like a very distant cousin.

Speaking of Tocharian, I'm picking up hints that Tocharian may in fact be closer to Greek than Greek is to Armenian, partly from reports of Ringe's work at U. Penn., which of course, is a little startling -- but not as startling as other hints that Celtic is in fact quite distant from the other members of the family, perhaps even further than Germanic (but not so far as Anatolic, of course). The apparent similarities to Italic would seem to be areal.

BTW. What does "ODP" stand for?

Mark Odegard.
